Đây là Bruno. Bruno là một chú chó. Chú to lớn và có màu nâu, và chú có đôi tai dài. Bruno sống cùng gia đình Klein.
This is Bruno. Bruno is a dog. He is big and brown, and he has long ears. Bruno lives with the Klein family.
Bruno thích nhiều thứ. Chú thích xúc xích. Chú thích những quả bóng. Chú thích công viên. Và chú thích bùn.
Bruno loves lots of things. He loves sausage. He loves balls. He loves the park. And he loves mud.
Nhưng Bruno ghét một thứ. Chú ghét nước. Chú ghét bồn tắm. Và chú ghét từ “tắm”.
But Bruno hates one thing. He hates water. He hates the bathtub. And he hates the word “bath”.
Hôm nay là thứ Bảy. Tim và Anna đi đến công viên cùng Bruno. Trời mưa một chút. Trong công viên có nhiều bùn.
Today is Saturday. Tim and Anna go to the park with Bruno. It is raining a little. There is lots of mud in the park.
Bruno nhìn thấy bùn. Mắt chú mở to. Rồi chú nhảy. Chú nhảy vào bùn. Chú lăn trong bùn. Chú thấy vui vẻ.
Bruno sees the mud. His eyes get big. Then he jumps. He jumps into the mud. He rolls in the mud. He is happy.
“Bruno, không!”, Anna gọi. Nhưng đã quá muộn. Bruno không còn màu nâu nữa. Bruno có màu đen. Đen và ướt và rất vui vẻ.
“Bruno, no!” calls Anna. But it is too late. Bruno isn’t brown any more. Bruno is black. Black and wet and very happy.
Tim cười. “Bây giờ Bruno là một quái vật bùn!”
Tim laughs. “Now Bruno is a mud monster!”
Ở nhà, mẹ đợi ở cửa. Mẹ nhìn thấy Bruno. Mẹ nhìn thấy các con. Mẹ nhìn thấy bùn. “Ôi không”, mẹ nói. “Bruno cần tắm.”
At home Mum is waiting at the door. She sees Bruno. She sees the children. She sees the mud. “Oh no,” she says. “Bruno needs a bath.”
Bruno nghe thấy từ đó. Tắm! Chú chạy đi ngay lập tức. Chú chạy vào nhà, qua nhà bếp và vào phòng khách.
Bruno hears the word. Bath! He runs away at once. He runs into the house, through the kitchen and into the living room.
“Dừng lại! Bruno! Không lên ghế sô-pha!”
“Stop! Bruno! Not on the sofa!”
Quá muộn. Bruno nằm trên ghế sô-pha. Chiếc ghế sô-pha màu trắng. Hoặc không: Bây giờ chiếc ghế sô-pha không còn màu trắng nữa.
Too late. Bruno is lying on the sofa. The sofa is white. Or no: the sofa isn’t white any more.
