In March 2061 a new colleague started in our office. Our office is on the tenth floor, right by the port of Hamburg. There are only six of us on the team. We sell insurance for spaceships.

Itu bukan pekerjaan yang menarik. Kami menelepon perusahaan-perusahaan di Bulan dan di Mars. Kami menulis kontrak dan menghitung harga. Setiap hari selalu sama.

It isn’t exciting work. We talk on the phone with companies on the Moon and on Mars. We write contracts and work out prices. Every day it’s the same.

Rekan kerja baru itu bernama Pak Berg. Dia tinggi dan sangat rapi. Kemejanya selalu putih, sepatunya selalu bersih. Dia menyalami semua orang dan tersenyum ramah.

The new colleague was called Mr Berg. He was tall and very neat. His shirt was always white, his shoes were always clean. He shook everyone’s hand and smiled kindly.

“Selamat pagi,” katanya. “Saya senang bisa bekerja dengan Anda.”

“Good morning,” he said. “I’m looking forward to working with you.”

Nama saya Jonas. Saya sudah tiga tahun di tim ini. Saya bukan bosnya, tapi saya menjual asuransi paling banyak.

My name is Jonas. I’ve been on this team for three years. I’m not the boss, but I sell the most insurance policies.

Rekan kerja saya, Aylin, berbisik pelan ke telinga saya: “Dia agak terlalu sempurna, ya?” Saya hanya tertawa. Tapi dia benar.

My colleague Aylin whispered in my ear, “He’s a bit too perfect, isn’t he?” I just laughed. But she was right.
