Jonas ma osiem lat. W każdą środę jest u dziadka. Dziadek jest stary, ale wesoły. Ma białe włosy i okulary.
Jonas is eight. He is at Grandpa’s every Wednesday. Grandpa is old, but funny. He has white hair and glasses.
Dzisiaj jest środa. Jonas dzwoni do drzwi. Dziadek otwiera drzwi. W ręce ma małe czarne pudełko. Nie wygląda na zadowolonego.
Today is Wednesday. Jonas rings the bell. Grandpa opens the door. In his hand he has a small black box. He doesn’t look happy.
„Cześć, Jonas. Spójrz. To jest prezent od twojej mamy. Telefon! Ale ja go nie rozumiem. Pomożesz mi?”
“Hello, Jonas. Look. This is a present from your mum. A phone! But I don’t understand it. Will you help me?”
„Jasne, dziadku!” Jonas siedzi obok dziadka na kanapie. Otwiera pudełko. Telefon jest nowy i błyszczy.
“Sure, Grandpa!” Jonas sits next to Grandpa on the sofa. He opens the box. The phone is new and shiny.
„Najpierw dzwonienie”, mówi Jonas. „Naciskasz tutaj. Potem dzwonisz do mamy.”
“Phone calls first,” says Jonas. “You press here. Then you call Mum.”
Dziadek naciska. Jest sygnał. Potem jakiś głos mówi: „Pizzeria Roma, dzień dobry!”
Grandpa presses. It rings. Then a voice says: “Pizzeria Roma, good afternoon!”
Dziadek robi wielkie oczy. „O! Yy… Dzień dobry. Jedną pizzę z serem poproszę.”
Grandpa’s eyes go wide. “Oh! Er … Hello. A cheese pizza, please.”
Jonas się śmieje. „Dziadku! To nie jest mama!” „Nie”, mówi dziadek. „Ale teraz mamy pizzę.”
Jonas laughs. “Grandpa! That’s not Mum!” “No,” says Grandpa. “But now we have pizza.”
„Teraz zdjęcia”, mówi Jonas. „Naciskasz ten przycisk tutaj. Pstryk!”
“Now photos,” says Jonas. “You press the button here. Click!”
Grandpa takes a photo. Then another photo. Then ten more photos. Jonas looks at the photos. In the first photo there is a thumb. In the second photo there is a nose. In the third photo there is the lamp.
„A to tutaj?”, pyta Jonas. Zdjęcie jest szare i miękkie. „To jest kot sąsiada”, mówi dumnie dziadek. „Jego brzuch.”
“And this one?” asks Jonas. The photo is grey and fluffy. “That’s the neighbour’s cat,” says Grandpa proudly. “Her tummy.”
