Jonas ma osiem lat. W każdą środę jest u dziadka. Dziadek jest stary, ale wesoły. Dobrze gotuje i chętnie czyta bajki.

Jonas is eight. Every Wednesday he is at Grandpa’s. Grandpa is old, but funny. He cooks well, and he likes reading stories.

Dzisiaj jest środa. Jonas dzwoni do drzwi. Dziadek otwiera drzwi. „Cześć, Jonas! Wejdź!“

Today is Wednesday. Jonas rings the bell. Grandpa opens the door. “Hello, Jonas! Come in!”

„Cześć, dziadku! Czytasz dzisiaj bajkę?“ „Tak, chętnie“, mówi dziadek. „Ale najpierw potrzebuję moich okularów.“

“Hello, Grandpa! Will you read a story today?” “Yes, gladly,” says Grandpa. “But first I need my glasses.”

Dziadek szuka. Szuka na stole. Tam jest gazeta. Tam jest filiżanka herbaty. Ale nie ma okularów.

Grandpa looks. He looks on the table. There is the newspaper. There is a cup of tea. But there are no glasses.

„Hm“, mówi dziadek. „Gdzie są moje okulary?“

“Hm,” says Grandpa. “Where are my glasses?”

Jonas też szuka. Szuka w kuchni. Otwiera lodówkę. W lodówce są mleko, ser i pomidor. Ale nie ma okularów.

Jonas looks too. He looks in the kitchen. He opens the fridge. In the fridge there is milk, cheese and a tomato. But no glasses.

Dziadek szuka w łazience. Tam jest jego szczoteczka do zębów. Tam jest jego grzebień. Ale nie ma okularów.

Grandpa looks in the bathroom. There is his toothbrush. There is his comb. But there are no glasses.

„Może w ogrodzie?“, pyta Jonas. Idą do ogrodu. Tam siedzi kotka sąsiada. Kotka patrzy na dziadka. Dziadek patrzy na kotkę.

“Maybe in the garden?” asks Jonas. They go into the garden. The neighbour’s cat is sitting there. The cat looks at Grandpa. Grandpa looks at the cat.

„Masz moje okulary?“, pyta dziadek. Kotka nic nie mówi. Odchodzi.

“Have you got my glasses?” asks Grandpa. The cat says nothing. She walks away.

„Koty nie mają okularów, dziadku“, mówi Jonas. „Koty widzą bardzo dobrze.“

“Cats don’t have glasses, Grandpa,” says Jonas. “Cats see very well.”

„Koty mają dobrze“, mówi dziadek.

“Lucky cats,” says Grandpa.
