Opa und die Brille

Jonas ist acht. Er ist jeden Mittwoch bei Opa. Opa ist alt, aber lustig. Er kocht gut, und er liest gern Geschichten.

Jonas is eight. Every Wednesday he is at Grandpa’s. Grandpa is old, but funny. He cooks well, and he likes reading stories.

Heute ist Mittwoch. Jonas klingelt. Opa macht die Tür auf. „Hallo, Jonas! Komm rein!“

Today is Wednesday. Jonas rings the bell. Grandpa opens the door. “Hello, Jonas! Come in!”

„Hallo, Opa! Liest du heute eine Geschichte?“ „Ja, gern“, sagt Opa. „Aber zuerst brauche ich meine Brille.“

“Hello, Grandpa! Will you read a story today?” “Yes, gladly,” says Grandpa. “But first I need my glasses.”

Opa sucht. Er sucht auf dem Tisch. Da ist die Zeitung. Da ist eine Tasse Tee. Aber da ist keine Brille.

Grandpa looks. He looks on the table. There is the newspaper. There is a cup of tea. But there are no glasses.

„Hm“, sagt Opa. „Wo ist meine Brille?“

“Hm,” says Grandpa. “Where are my glasses?”

Jonas sucht auch. Er sucht in der Küche. Er macht den Kühlschrank auf. Im Kühlschrank sind Milch, Käse und eine Tomate. Aber keine Brille.

Jonas looks too. He looks in the kitchen. He opens the fridge. In the fridge there is milk, cheese and a tomato. But no glasses.

Opa sucht im Bad. Da ist seine Zahnbürste. Da ist sein Kamm. Aber da ist keine Brille.

Grandpa looks in the bathroom. There is his toothbrush. There is his comb. But there are no glasses.

„Vielleicht im Garten?“, fragt Jonas. Sie gehen in den Garten. Da sitzt die Katze vom Nachbarn. Die Katze sieht Opa an. Opa sieht die Katze an.

“Maybe in the garden?” asks Jonas. They go into the garden. The neighbour’s cat is sitting there. The cat looks at Grandpa. Grandpa looks at the cat.

„Hast du meine Brille?“, fragt Opa. Die Katze sagt nichts. Sie geht weg.

“Have you got my glasses?” asks Grandpa. The cat says nothing. She walks away.

„Katzen haben keine Brille, Opa“, sagt Jonas. „Katzen sehen sehr gut.“

“Cats don’t have glasses, Grandpa,” says Jonas. “Cats see very well.”

„Die Katzen haben es gut“, sagt Opa.

“Lucky cats,” says Grandpa.
