Titty Mouse poszła zbierać kłosy i Tatty Mouse poszła zbierać kłosy,
Titty Mouse went a leasing and Tatty Mouse went a leasing,
Więc obie poszły zbierać kłosy.
So they both went a leasing.
Titty Mouse uzbierała kłos zboża, a Tatty Mouse uzbierała kłos zboża,
Titty Mouse leased an ear of corn, and Tatty Mouse leased an ear of corn,
Więc obie uzbierały kłos zboża.
So they both leased an ear of corn.
Titty Mouse zrobiła pudding, a Tatty Mouse zrobiła pudding,
Titty Mouse made a pudding, and Tatty Mouse made a pudding,
Więc obie zrobiły pudding.
So they both made a pudding.
I Tatty Mouse włożyła swój pudding do garnka, aby się gotował,
And Tatty Mouse put her pudding into the pot to boil,
Lecz kiedy Titty podeszła, by włożyć swój, garnek się przewrócił i poparzył ją na śmierć.
But when Titty went to put hers in, the pot tumbled over, and scalded her to death.
Wtedy Tatty usiadła i płakała; po czym trójnożny stołek powiedział: „Tatty, dlaczego płaczesz?” „Titty nie żyje – powiedziała Tatty – i dlatego płaczę”. „W takim razie – powiedział stołek – będę skakał”. I stołek skakał.
Then Tatty sat down and wept; then a three-legged stool said: “Tatty, why do you weep?” “Titty’s dead,” said Tatty, “and so I weep;” “then,” said the stool, “I’ll hop,” so the stool hopped.
Wtedy miotła w kącie pokoju powiedziała: „Stołku, dlaczego skaczesz?” „Och! – powiedział stołek. – Titty nie żyje, a Tatty płacze, i dlatego skaczę”. „W takim razie – powiedziała miotła – będę zamiatać”. I miotła zaczęła zamiatać.
Then a broom in the corner of the room said, “Stool, why do you hop?” “Oh!” said the stool, “Titty’s dead, and Tatty weeps, and so I hop;” “then,” said the broom, “I’ll sweep,” so the broom began to sweep.
„W takim razie – powiedziały drzwi – miotło, dlaczego zamiatasz?” „Och! – powiedziała miotła. – Titty nie żyje, a Tatty płacze, a stołek skacze, i dlatego zamiatam”. „W takim razie – powiedziały drzwi – będę stukać”. I drzwi stukały.
“Then,” said the door, “Broom, why do you sweep?” “Oh!” said the broom, “Titty’s dead, and Tatty weeps, and the stool hops, and so I sweep;” “Then,” said the door, “I’ll jar,” so the door jarred.
„W takim razie – powiedziało okno – drzwi, dlaczego stukacie?” „Och! – powiedziały drzwi. – Titty nie żyje, a Tatty płacze, stołek skacze, a miotła zamiata, i dlatego stukam”.
“Then,” said the window, “Door, why do you jar?” “Oh!” said the door, “Titty’s dead, and Tatty weeps, and the stool hops, and the broom sweeps, and so I jar.”
„W takim razie – powiedziało okno – będę skrzypieć”. I okno skrzypiało. A przed domem stała stara ławka, i kiedy okno skrzypiało, ławka powiedziała: „Okno, dlaczego skrzypisz?” „Och!”
“Then,” said the window, “I’ll creak,” so the window creaked. Now there was an old form outside the house, and when the window creaked, the form said: “Window, why do you creak?” “Oh!”
powiedziało okno. – „Titty nie żyje, a Tatty płacze, stołek skacze, a miotła zamiata, drzwi stukają, i dlatego skrzypię”.
said the window, “Titty’s dead, and Tatty weeps, and the stool hops, and the broom sweeps, the door jars, and so I creak.”
