Lena ma siedem lat. Ma kota. Kot ma na imię Mimi. Mimi jest mała i szara oraz ma białe łapki.
Lena is seven years old. She has a cat. The cat is called Mimi. Mimi is small and grey, and she has white paws.
Ale Mimi nie jest już sama. Mimi ma cztery małe kotki. Małe kotki mają teraz osiem tygodni. Są małe, okrągłe i bardzo psotne.
But Mimi is not alone any more. Mimi has four babies. The babies are eight weeks old now. They are small, round and very cheeky.
Lena has a name for each baby. The white kitten is called Snow. The black kitten is called Night. The grey kitten is called Mouse. And the grey kitten with the white paws is called Mini. Mini is like Mimi, only smaller.
Każdego ranka pięć kotów przychodzi teraz do pokoju Leny. Skaczą na łóżko. „Miau! Miau! Miau! Miau! Miau!” Wtedy Lena wstaje. Szybko.
Every morning five cats come into Lena’s room now. They jump onto the bed. “Miaow! Miaow! Miaow! Miaow! Miaow!” Then Lena gets up. Quickly.
Małe kotki bawią się cały dzień. Śnieg bawi się skarpetkami taty. Noc bawi się gazetą. Mysz śpi w doniczce. A Mini? Mini chowa się. Mini bardzo dobrze się chowa, jak Mimi.
The babies play all day. Snow plays with Dad’s socks. Night plays with the newspaper. Mouse sleeps in the flowerpot. And Mini? Mini hides. Mini is very good at hiding, like Mimi.
Wieczorem tata siedzi na kanapie. Ma kota na głowie, kota na brzuchu i kota w kieszeni. Patrzy na Lenę.
In the evening Dad sits on the sofa. He has a cat on his head, a cat on his tummy and a cat in his pocket. He looks at Lena.
„Leno, pięć kotów to za dużo. Małe kotki są już wystarczająco duże. Potrzebują nowego domu”.
“Lena, five cats are too many. The babies are big enough now. They need a new home.”
Lena jest smutna. Ale wie: tata ma rację. Dom jest za mały na pięć kotów.
Lena is sad. But she knows Dad is right. The house is too small for five cats.
„Dobrze” – mówi cicho. „Ale małe kotki idą tylko do przyjaciół”.
“Okay,” she says quietly. “But the babies only go to friends.”
