Mr Lund Is Sick

In the morning Nina takes bread to Mr Lund.

早上 zǎoshàng ，Nina 把 bǎ 面包 miànbāo 带 dài 给 gěi Lund 先生 xiānshēng 。

“Mr Lund!” she says.

“Lund 先生 xiānshēng ！” 她 tā 说 shuō 。

He does not answer.

他 tā 不 bù 回答 huídá 。

The garden door is open.

花园 huāyuán 的 de 门 mén 开着 kāizhe 。

Nina goes in.

Nina 进去 jìnqù 。

Mr Lund is in bed. He is very white.

Lund 先生 xiānshēng 在 zài 床 chuáng 上 shàng 。 他 tā 非常 fēicháng 白 bái 。

“You are sick,” Nina says.

“ 你 nǐ 生病 shēngbìng 了 le ，”Nina 说 shuō 。

“No,” he says.

“ 不 bù ，” 他 tā 说 shuō 。

She calls the doctor.

她 tā 给 gěi 医生 yīshēng 打电话 dǎdiànhuà 。

The doctor comes. He looks at Mr Lund.

医生 yīshēng 来 lái 了 le 。 他 tā 看 kàn Lund 先生 xiānshēng 。

He looks for a long time.

他 tā 看 kàn 了 le 很久 hěnjiǔ 。

“He is very sick,” the doctor says.

“ 他 tā 病 bìng 得 de 非常 fēicháng 重 zhòng ，” 医生 yīshēng 说 shuō 。

“What does he need?” Nina says.

“ 他 tā 需要 xūyào 什么 shénme ？”Nina 说 shuō 。

“Hot soup.”

“ 热 rè 汤 tāng 。”
