Într-o zi, Henny-penny culegea grăunțe în curte când — poc! — ceva a lovit-o în cap. „Doamne, Dumnezeule!”, a spus Henny-penny; „cerul o să cadă; trebuie să mă duc să-i spun regelui.”
One day Henny-penny was picking up corn in the cornyard when—whack!—something hit her upon the head. “Goodness gracious me!” said Henny-penny; “the sky’s a-going to fall; I must go and tell the king.”
Așa că a mers ea, și a tot mers, și a tot mers până când s-a întâlnit cu Cocky-locky. „Unde te duci, Henny-penny?”, întreabă Cocky-locky. „O! Mă duc să-i spun regelui că se prăbușește cerul”, spune Henny-penny. „Pot să vin cu tine?”, întreabă Cocky-locky.
So she went along and she went along and she went along till she met Cocky-locky. “Where are you going, Henny-penny?” says Cocky-locky. “Oh! I’m going to tell the king the sky’s a-falling,” says Henny-penny. “May I come with you?” says Cocky-locky.
„Desigur”, spune Henny-penny. Așa că Henny-penny și Cocky-locky s-au dus să-i spună regelui că se prăbușește cerul.
“Certainly,” says Henny-penny. So Henny-penny and Cocky-locky went to tell the king the sky was falling.
Au mers ei, și au tot mers, și au tot mers, până când s-au întâlnit cu Ducky-daddles. „Unde vă duceți, Henny-penny și Cocky-locky?”, întreabă Ducky-daddles. „O!
