Bicicleta roșie

Tom are șase ani. El are o bicicletă nouă. Bicicleta este roșie. Ea are o sonerie. Soneria face „Kling-kling”.

Tom is six. He has a new bicycle. The bicycle is red. It has a bell. The bell goes “ding-ding”.

Dar Tom are o problemă. El nu știe să meargă pe bicicletă. Încă nu.

But Tom has a problem. He can’t ride a bike. Not yet.

Sora lui, Mia, are zece ani. Mia merge repede. Ea merge fără mâini. Ea merge chiar și cu un singur picior.

His sister Mia is ten. Mia rides fast. She rides with no hands. She even rides with just one foot.

„Astăzi învăț asta”, spune Tom. „Astăzi merg!”

“Today I’m going to learn,” says Tom. “Today I’m going to ride!”

Tata merge cu Tom în parc. Drumul din parc este lung și drept. Tata ține bicicleta. Tom stă pe șa.

Dad goes to the park with Tom. The path in the park is long and flat. Dad holds the bicycle. Tom sits on the saddle.

„Hai!”, spune tata. Tom dă din pedale. Tata aleargă lângă Tom. El ține bicicleta din spate.

“Go!” says Dad. Tom pushes the pedals. Dad runs next to Tom. He holds the bicycle tight at the back.

„Tată, nu da drumul!” „Nu, nu. Eu țin bine.”

“Dad, don’t let go!” “No, no. I’m holding on.”

Dar tata nu mai este tânăr. El aleargă și aleargă. După cinci minute, fața lui este roșie. Ea este la fel de roșie ca bicicleta.

But Dad isn’t young any more. He runs and runs. After five minutes his face is red. It is as red as the bicycle.

„Pauză!”, strigă tata. El stă pe o bancă și respiră tare.

“Break!” calls Dad. He sits on a bench and breathes loudly.

Tom încearcă singur. El merge un metru. Apoi cade. Bum! El merge doi metri. Bum! Acum genunchiul îl doare.

Tom tries on his own. He rides one metre. Then he falls over. Bump! He rides two metres. Bump! Now his knee hurts.

Tom stă în iarbă. El este furios. „Bicicleta este proastă! Eu nu pot să fac asta!”

Tom sits in the grass. He is angry. “The bike is stupid! I can’t do it!”
