Adım Victor, on bir yaşındayım ve annem, babam ve iki kedimle üçüncü kattaki bir dairede oturuyorum. Annemin adı Cristina. Babamın adı Andrei. Kedilerin adları Pixel ve Mango.

My name is Victor, I’m eleven years old, and I live with my parents and two cats in a flat on the third floor. My mother’s name is Cristina. My father’s name is Andrei. The cats are called Pixel and Mango.

Pixel siyah ve çok şişman. Mango turuncu ve çok aptal. Bir keresinde Mango bir saat boyunca kendi kuyruğuyla dövüştü. Kaybetti.

Pixel is black and very fat. Mango is orange and very stupid. Once Mango fought with her own tail for an hour. She lost.

Annem kedileri çok seviyor. Bir kedi tişörtü, bir kedi kupası ve kedi çorapları var. Cep telefonu kedi fotoğraflarıyla dolu. Benden sadece dört fotoğrafı var.

My mother loves cats. She has a cat T-shirt, a cat mug and cat socks. Her phone is full of cat photos. Of me she has only four photos.

Ekim ayında bir pazar günü kahvaltıda cep telefonunu masaya koydu. Ekranda beyaz patili küçük siyah bir kedi yavrusu vardı.

One Sunday in October, at breakfast, she put her phone on the table. On the screen was a small black kitten with white paws.

“Andrei” dedi. “Şuna bak. Bu Tofu. Tofu’nun bir aileye ihtiyacı var.”

“Andrei,” she said. “Look. This is Tofu. Tofu needs a family.”

Babam telefona bakmadı. Kahvesini içti ve kupayı yavaşça masaya bıraktı.

My father didn’t look at the phone. He drank his coffee and slowly put the cup down.

“Hayır” dedi.

“No,” he said.

“Onu henüz hiç görmedin bile!”

“You haven’t even seen him yet!”

“Onu görmeme gerek yok. İki kedimiz var. İki kedi yeterli. İki kedi bile çok fazla. Pixel dün ayakkabımı yedi.”

“I don’t need to see him. We have two cats. Two cats are enough. Two cats are actually too many. Pixel ate my shoe yesterday.”

“Sadece birazcık çiğnedi.”

“She only chewed on it a bit.”

“O benim düğün ayakkabımdı, Cristina!”

“It was my wedding shoe, Cristina!”
