我叫维克多，我十一岁了。我和爸爸妈妈还有两只猫住在三楼的一间公寓里。我妈妈叫克里斯蒂娜，我爸爸叫安德烈。那两只猫叫皮克塞尔和曼戈。

My name is Victor, I’m eleven years old, and I live with my parents and two cats in a flat on the third floor. My mother’s name is Cristina. My father’s name is Andrei. The cats are called Pixel and Mango.

皮克塞尔是黑色的，很胖。曼戈是橘色的，很笨。有一次，曼戈和自己的尾巴打了一个小时的架，结果它输了。

Pixel is black and very fat. Mango is orange and very stupid. Once Mango fought with her own tail for an hour. She lost.

我妈妈很爱猫。她有一件猫咪T恤、一个猫咪杯子和猫咪袜子。她的手机里全是猫的照片。关于我的照片，她只有四张。

My mother loves cats. She has a cat T-shirt, a cat mug and cat socks. Her phone is full of cat photos. Of me she has only four photos.

十月的一个星期天，吃早饭时，她把手机放在了桌子上。屏幕上是一只长着白爪子的小黑猫。

One Sunday in October, at breakfast, she put her phone on the table. On the screen was a small black kitten with white paws.

“安德烈，”她说，“你看。这是豆腐。豆腐需要一个家。”

“Andrei,” she said. “Look. This is Tofu. Tofu needs a family.”

我爸爸没看手机。他喝了口咖啡，慢慢地放下了杯子。

My father didn’t look at the phone. He drank his coffee and slowly put the cup down.

“不行，”他说。

“No,” he said.

“你还没见过它呢！”

“You haven’t even seen him yet!”

“我不用看。我们有两只猫了。两只猫够了。两只猫甚至太多了。皮克塞尔昨天把我的鞋子吃了。”

“I don’t need to see him. We have two cats. Two cats are enough. Two cats are actually too many. Pixel ate my shoe yesterday.”

“它只是咬了一点点。”

“She only chewed on it a bit.”

“那是我的结婚时穿的鞋，克里斯蒂娜！”

“It was my wedding shoe, Cristina!”
