Flour, Water, Salt

沃尔特开灯。后来他开发音机。有音乐。“洗手，”他说。安娜洗手。

Walter turns on the light. Then he turns on the radio. There is music. “Wash your hands,” he says. Ana washes her hands.

在大桌子上面，有一个大碗。沃尔特把面粉放到碗里。“Flour，”他说。后来他放水。“Water。温的，不热。”后来放一点儿盐。“Salt。不多。”

On the big table, there is a big bowl. Walter puts flour in the bowl. “Flour,” he says. Then he puts in water. “Water. Warm, not hot.” Then a little salt. “Salt. Not a lot.”

“Flour, water, salt，”安娜说。她拿手机。她想写新字。

“Flour, water, salt,” Ana says. She takes her phone. She wants to write the new words.

“不看手机，”沃尔特说。“用手。看。”他用大双手推面团。推一下，转一下，推一下，转一下。

“No phone,” Walter says. “Hands. Look.” He pushes the dough with his big hands. Push, turn, push, turn.

安娜试了一下。面团在她手上。在桌子上面。在她毛衣上面。“沃尔特，它在……它在每一个地方。”

Ana tries. The dough is on her hands. It is on the table. It is on her jumper. “Walter, it is… it is in every place.”

“Everywhere，”沃尔特说。他没笑。“再来。慢慢来。”

“Everywhere,” Walter says. He doesn’t laugh. “Again. Slowly.”

他们工作。墙上的钟是四点。安娜做小面包。她的小面包不圆。沃尔特的小面包都一样。

They work. The clock on the wall says four o’clock. Ana makes small rolls. Her rolls are not round. Walter’s rolls are all the same.

安娜从烤箱拿出一个盘子。“不用手拿！很烫！”沃尔特说。安娜快快放下盘子。“对不起。对不起，对不起。”

Ana takes a tray from the oven. “Not with your hands! It’s hot!” Walter says. Ana puts the tray down fast. “Sorry. Sorry, sorry.”

“不说对不起。用这个。”他给她一块厚布。

“Don’t say sorry. Use this.” He gives her a thick cloth.

后来沃尔特从盘子拿一个大面包。他的手在抖。面包掉在地上。沃尔特看自己的手。安娜也看他的手。

Then Walter takes a big loaf from a tray. His hands shake. The loaf falls on the floor. Walter looks at his hands. Ana looks at his hands too.

“别看我，”他说。“工作。”

“Don’t look at me,” he says. “Work.”

安娜一句话也没说。她拿上面包，放到桌子上面。

Ana doesn’t say a word. She picks up the loaf and puts it on the table.

差十分五点，沃尔特去店的前面。安娜听见门上面的铃声。人进来了。他们要大面包和小面包。安娜留在后面烤箱旁边。

At ten to five, Walter goes to the front of the shop. Ana hears the bell over the door. People come in. They want bread and rolls. Ana stays at the back with the oven.
