蚂蚁与蚱蜢

《伊索寓言》蚂蚁与蚱蜢。在深秋一个明媚的日子里，蚂蚁一家正在温暖的阳光下忙碌着，晾晒它们在夏天储备的粮食。这时，一只饥肠辘辘的蚱蜢夹着它的小提琴走过来，谦卑地乞求给点吃的。

The Æsop for Children The Ants & the Grasshopper One bright day in late autumn a family of Ants were bustling about in the warm sunshine, drying out the grain they had stored up during the summer, when a starving Grasshopper, his fiddle under his arm, came up and humbly begged for a bite to eat.

“什么！”蚂蚁们惊讶地叫道，“难道你没有为冬天储备任何东西吗？整个夏天你到底在干什么？”

“What!” cried the Ants in surprise, “haven’t you stored anything away for the winter? What in the world were you doing all last summer?”

“我没时间储备食物，”蚱蜢可怜巴巴地说，“我忙着演奏音乐，还没意识到夏天就过去了。”

“I didn’t have time to store up any food,” whined the Grasshopper; “I was so busy making music that before I knew it the summer was gone.”

蚂蚁们厌恶地耸了耸肩。

The Ants shrugged their shoulders in disgust.

“忙着演奏音乐，是吗？”它们喊道，“那好吧，现在去跳舞吧！”说完，它们转过身去，继续忙它们的工作。

“Making music, were you?” they cried. “Very well; now dance!” And they turned their backs on the Grasshopper and went on with their work.

工作有工作的时间，娱乐有娱乐的时间。
