The man in the grey coat

Η Σάρα δουλεύει σε ένα μικρό καφέ. Το καφέ είναι σε έναν πολυσύχναστο δρόμο στην πόλη.

Sara works in a small café. The café is on a busy street in the city.

Είναι επτά το πρωί. Η Σάρα ανοίγει την πόρτα και ανάβει τα φώτα.

It is seven o’clock in the morning. Sara opens the door and turns on the lights.

Το καφέ είναι ήσυχο. Η Σάρα φτιάχνει έναν καφέ για τον εαυτό της. Κάθεται στο παράθυρο.

The café is quiet. Sara makes a coffee for herself. She sits at the window.

Έχει ένα στυλό στο χέρι της. Ζωγραφίζει σε μια χαρτοπετσέτα. Ζωγραφίζει τον δρόμο, το λεωφορείο και τους ανθρώπους.

She has a pen in her hand. She draws on a paper napkin. She draws the street, the bus and the people.

Η Σάρα αγαπάει τη ζωγραφική. Ζωγραφίζει κάθε πρωί. Αλλά δεν δείχνει ποτέ τις ζωγραφιές της σε κανέναν.

Sara loves drawing. She draws every morning. But she never shows her drawings to anybody.

Στις οκτώ, η πόρτα ανοίγει. Ένας άντρας μπαίνει μέσα. Έχει ένα γκρι παλτό και μια μεγάλη μαύρη τσάντα.

At eight o’clock, the door opens. A man comes in. He has a grey coat and a big black bag.

«Καλημέρα», λέει η Σάρα.

“Good morning,” says Sara.

«Καλημέρα», λέει ο άντρας. «Έναν σκέτο καφέ, παρακαλώ».

“Good morning,” says the man. “A black coffee, please.”

Λέει πάντα τα ίδια λόγια. Έρχεται κάθε μέρα στις οκτώ. Θέλει πάντα έναν σκέτο καφέ.

He always says the same words. He comes every day at eight. He always wants a black coffee.

Η Σάρα φτιάχνει τον καφέ. Ο άντρας πληρώνει. Κάθεται στο τραπέζι στη γωνία.

Sara makes the coffee. The man pays. He sits at the table in the corner.

Ανοίγει ένα βιβλίο. Διαβάζει και πίνει τον καφέ του. Δεν μιλάει.

He opens a book. He reads and drinks his coffee. He does not talk.

Η Σάρα τον κοιτάζει. Είναι περίπου τριάντα χρονών. Έχει σκούρα μαλλιά και ένα ευγενικό πρόσωπο.

Sara looks at him. He is about thirty. He has dark hair and a kind face.

«Ο ίδιος καφές, το ίδιο τραπέζι, το ίδιο βιβλίο», σκέφτεται. Χαμογελάει.

“The same coffee, the same table, the same book,” she thinks. She smiles.
