The man in the grey coat

सारा एक छोटे कैफ़े में काम करती है। कैफ़े शहर की एक व्यस्त सड़क पर है।

Sara works in a small café. The café is on a busy street in the city.

सुबह के सात बजे हैं। सारा दरवाज़ा खोलती है और बत्तियाँ जलाती है।

It is seven o’clock in the morning. Sara opens the door and turns on the lights.

कैफ़े शांत है। सारा अपने लिए एक कॉफ़ी बनाती है। वह खिड़की के पास बैठती है।

The café is quiet. Sara makes a coffee for herself. She sits at the window.

उसके हाथ में एक पेन है। वह कागज़ के नैपकिन पर चित्र बनाती है। वह सड़क, बस और लोगों के चित्र बनाती है।

She has a pen in her hand. She draws on a paper napkin. She draws the street, the bus and the people.

सारा को चित्र बनाना बहुत पसंद है। वह हर सुबह चित्र बनाती है। लेकिन वह अपने चित्र कभी किसी को नहीं दिखाती है।

Sara loves drawing. She draws every morning. But she never shows her drawings to anybody.

आठ बजे दरवाज़ा खुलता है। एक आदमी अंदर आता है। उसके पास एक स्लेटी कोट और एक बड़ा काला बैग है।

At eight o’clock, the door opens. A man comes in. He has a grey coat and a big black bag.

“नमस्ते,” सारा कहती है।

“Good morning,” says Sara.

“नमस्ते,” आदमी कहता है। “कृपया, एक काली कॉफ़ी।”

“Good morning,” says the man. “A black coffee, please.”

वह हमेशा वही शब्द कहता है। वह हर दिन आठ बजे आता है। वह हमेशा काली कॉफ़ी चाहता है।

He always says the same words. He comes every day at eight. He always wants a black coffee.

सारा कॉफ़ी बनाती है। आदमी पैसे देता है। वह कोने की मेज़ पर बैठता है।

Sara makes the coffee. The man pays. He sits at the table in the corner.

वह एक किताब खोलता है। वह पढ़ता है और अपनी कॉफ़ी पीता है। वह बात नहीं करता है।

He opens a book. He reads and drinks his coffee. He does not talk.

सारा उसे देखती है। उसकी उम्र लगभग तीस साल है। उसके बाल काले हैं और चेहरा दयालु है।

Sara looks at him. He is about thirty. He has dark hair and a kind face.

“वही कॉफ़ी, वही मेज़, वही किताब,” वह सोचती है। वह मुस्कुराती है।

“The same coffee, the same table, the same book,” she thinks. She smiles.
