Bărbatul în palton gri
The man in the grey coat
Sara lucrează într-o cafenea mică. Cafeneaua este pe o stradă aglomerată din oraș.
Sara works in a small café. The café is on a busy street in the city.
Este ora șapte dimineața. Sara deschide ușa și aprinde luminile.
It is seven o’clock in the morning. Sara opens the door and turns on the lights.
Cafeneaua este liniștită. Sara își face o cafea. Ea stă la fereastră.
The café is quiet. Sara makes a coffee for herself. She sits at the window.
Ea are un pix în mână. Desenează pe un șervețel de hârtie. Desenează strada, autobuzul și oamenii.
She has a pen in her hand. She draws on a paper napkin. She draws the street, the bus and the people.
Sarei îi place mult să deseneze. Ea desenează în fiecare dimineață. Dar nu arată niciodată desenele ei la nimeni.
Sara loves drawing. She draws every morning. But she never shows her drawings to anybody.
La ora opt, ușa se deschide. Un bărbat intră. El are un palton gri și o geantă mare neagră.
At eight o’clock, the door opens. A man comes in. He has a grey coat and a big black bag.
„Bună dimineața”, spune Sara.
“Good morning,” says Sara.
„Bună dimineața”, spune bărbatul. „O cafea neagră, vă rog.”
“Good morning,” says the man. “A black coffee, please.”
El spune mereu aceleași cuvinte. Vine în fiecare zi la opt. Vrea mereu o cafea neagră.
He always says the same words. He comes every day at eight. He always wants a black coffee.
Sara face cafeaua. Bărbatul plătește. El stă la masa din colț.
Sara makes the coffee. The man pays. He sits at the table in the corner.
El deschide o carte. Citește și bea cafeaua. Nu vorbește.
He opens a book. He reads and drinks his coffee. He does not talk.
Sara se uită la el. El are aproximativ treizeci de ani. Are păr închis la culoare și o față blândă.
Sara looks at him. He is about thirty. He has dark hair and a kind face.
„Aceeași cafea, aceeași masă, aceeași carte”, se gândește ea. Ea zâmbește.
“The same coffee, the same table, the same book,” she thinks. She smiles.
