Five O’clock

It is Friday, five o’clock in the morning. Nina opens her eyes.

Hari Jumat, jam lima pagi. Nina membuka matanya.

It is very dark and very quiet.

Sangat gelap dan sangat sunyi.

Max is not on the bed. That is new.

Max tidak ada di tempat tidur. Itu baru.

She hears something. Who is working at five o’clock in the morning?

Dia mendengar sesuatu. Siapa yang bekerja jam lima pagi?

She goes down the stairs, slowly.

Dia turun tangga, perlahan.

She stops on stair twenty. She hears a step.

Dia berhenti di tangga dua puluh. Dia mendengar langkah.

It is down there, in the kitchen.

Itu di bawah sana, di dapur.

She hears a second step.

Dia mendengar langkah kedua.

There is the kitchen door. It is closed.

Itu pintu dapur. Pintu itu tertutup.

There is a small yellow light under it.

Ada cahaya kuning kecil di bawahnya.

It is hot at this door. There is fresh bread behind it.

Pintu ini panas. Ada roti segar di belakangnya.

Nina puts her head on the floor. She looks under the door.

Nina menaruh kepalanya di lantai. Dia melihat di bawah pintu.

She sees two small shoes. They are old black shoes.

Dia melihat dua sepatu kecil. Itu sepatu hitam tua.

They go to the table. They go to the window.

Sepatu itu pergi ke meja. Sepatu itu pergi ke jendela.
