Kenapa

Sekarang jam empat sore. Dapur sunyi.

It is four o’clock in the afternoon. The kitchen is quiet.

Tidak ada lagi roti di piring.

There is no more bread on the plate.

Nina menaruh kuncinya di meja.

Nina puts her key on the table.

“Kenapa?” katanya.

“Why?” she says.

Nenek melihat kunci itu.

Grandma looks at the key.

“Kenapa apa?”

“Why what?”

“Kenapa semua ini? Catatan? Amplop? Pintu biru?”

“Why all this? A note? An envelope? A blue door?”

“Itu pintu yang bagus.”

“It is a good door.”

“Ada banyak pintu biru, Nenek! Tidak! Tidak! Tidak!”

“There are a lot of blue doors, Grandma! No! No! No!”

“Ya.”

“Yes.”

“Nenek punya ponsel! Nenek bisa bilang: Nina, datang ke hotel.”

“You have a phone! You can say: Nina, come to the hotel.”

“Ya,” kata Nenek. “Nenek bisa bilang itu.”

“Yes,” Grandma says. “I can say that.”

Nina berdiri. Dia berteriak.

Nina stands up. She shouts.

Dia berteriak tentang pintu. Dia berteriak tentang hujan dan bus.

She shouts about the doors. She shouts about the rain and the bus.
