午後の四時です。台所は静かです。

It is four o’clock in the afternoon. The kitchen is quiet.

お皿にもうパンはありません。

There is no more bread on the plate.

ニーナはカギをテーブルに置きます。

Nina puts her key on the table.

「どうして？」と言います。

“Why?” she says.

おばあちゃんはカギを見ます。

Grandma looks at the key.

「何がどうして？」

“Why what?”

「どうして、これ全部ですか？ メモ？ ふうとう？ 青いドア？」

“Why all this? A note? An envelope? A blue door?”

「いいドアです」

“It is a good door.”

「青いドアはたくさんあります、おばあちゃん！ いいえ！ いいえ！ いいえ！」

“There are a lot of blue doors, Grandma! No! No! No!”

「はい」

“Yes.”

「電話を持っていますね！ 言えます：ニーナ、ホテルに来て、と」

“You have a phone! You can say: Nina, come to the hotel.”

「はい」とおばあちゃんは言います。「言えます」

“Yes,” Grandma says. “I can say that.”

ニーナは立ちます。さけびます。

Nina stands up. She shouts.
