Jetzt bist du die Köchin

Zehn Wochen lang machen Nina und Oma jeden Morgen zusammen Brot.

Every morning for ten weeks, Nina and Grandma make bread together.

Jeden Morgen isst Oma es und sagt ein Wort.

Every morning Grandma eats it and says one word.

„Nein.“

“No.”

Es ist ein sehr gutes Wort in dieser Küche. Sara mag es auch.

It is a very good word in that kitchen. Sara likes it too.

Heute bricht Oma Ninas Brot in zwei. Sie isst es langsam.

Today Grandma breaks Nina’s bread in two. She eats it slowly.

Sie isst alles. Sie sagt lange nichts.

She eats all of it. She says nothing for a long time.

Dann legt sie einen Schlüssel auf den Tisch.

Then she puts a key on the table.

Er ist klein und alt. Es ist der gleiche Schlüssel.

It is small and old. It is the same key.

Jetzt sind zwei Schlüssel auf dem Tisch.

Now there are two keys on the table.

„Welcher Schlüssel ist das?“, sagt Nina.

“Which key is this?” Nina says.

„Das ist mein Schlüssel“, sagt Oma. „Jetzt bist du die Köchin.“

“That is my key,” Grandma says. “Now you are the cook.”

Nina schaut Oma an.

Nina looks at Grandma.

„Und du?“

“And you?”

Oma schaut aus dem Fenster.

Grandma looks out of the window.
