Bruno dan Mandi

Ini Bruno. Bruno adalah seekor anjing. Dia besar dan cokelat, dan dia punya telinga panjang. Bruno tinggal bersama keluarga Klein.

This is Bruno. Bruno is a dog. He is big and brown, and he has long ears. Bruno lives with the Klein family.

Bruno suka banyak hal. Dia suka sosis. Dia suka bola. Dia suka taman. Dan dia suka lumpur.

Bruno loves lots of things. He loves sausage. He loves balls. He loves the park. And he loves mud.

Tetapi Bruno benci satu hal. Dia benci air. Dia benci bak mandi. Dan dia benci kata “mandi”.

But Bruno hates one thing. He hates water. He hates the bathtub. And he hates the word “bath”.

Hari ini hari Sabtu. Tim dan Anna pergi bersama Bruno ke taman. Hujan turun sedikit. Di taman ada banyak lumpur.

Today is Saturday. Tim and Anna go to the park with Bruno. It is raining a little. There is lots of mud in the park.

Bruno melihat lumpur. Matanya membesar. Lalu dia melompat. Dia melompat ke dalam lumpur. Dia berguling di lumpur. Dia bahagia.

Bruno sees the mud. His eyes get big. Then he jumps. He jumps into the mud. He rolls in the mud. He is happy.

“Bruno, jangan!”, teriak Anna. Tetapi sudah terlambat. Bruno tidak lagi cokelat. Bruno hitam. Hitam dan basah dan sangat bahagia.

“Bruno, no!” calls Anna. But it is too late. Bruno isn’t brown any more. Bruno is black. Black and wet and very happy.

Tim tertawa. “Sekarang Bruno adalah monster lumpur!”

Tim laughs. “Now Bruno is a mud monster!”

Di rumah, Ibu menunggu di pintu. Dia melihat Bruno. Dia melihat anak-anak. Dia melihat lumpur. “Oh tidak,” kata Ibu. “Bruno perlu mandi.”

At home Mum is waiting at the door. She sees Bruno. She sees the children. She sees the mud. “Oh no,” she says. “Bruno needs a bath.”

Bruno mendengar kata itu. Mandi! Dia langsung lari. Dia lari ke dalam rumah, lewat dapur, dan ke ruang tamu.

Bruno hears the word. Bath! He runs away at once. He runs into the house, through the kitchen and into the living room.

“Berhenti! Bruno! Jangan naik ke sofa!”

“Stop! Bruno! Not on the sofa!”

Terlambat. Bruno berbaring di sofa. Sofa itu putih. Atau tidak: sekarang sofa itu tidak putih lagi.

Too late. Bruno is lying on the sofa. The sofa is white. Or no: the sofa isn’t white any more.
