十月，我去看望了我的祖母。她住在阿尔卑斯山的一个小村子里，就在湖边。村子叫塞维尔。冬天那里只有两百人住。

In October I went to see my grandmother. She lives in a small village in the Alps, right by a lake. The village is called Seewil. In winter only two hundred people live there.

我祖母叫弗雷妮。她七十岁了，做了四十年的物理老师。她很聪明，只相信自己亲眼看到的东西。

My grandmother’s name is Vreni. She is seventy years old and was a physics teacher for forty years. She is clever, and she only believes what she can see.

她在电话里对我说：“乔纳斯，请过来。我需要你的帮助。带上你的相机。”她不想多做解释。

On the phone she told me, “Jonas, please come. I need your help. And bring your camera.” She didn’t want to explain more.

我晚上到了。她煮了汤，我们在厨房吃了饭。然后她看了看表。“快十一点了，”她说，“跟我到窗边来。”

I arrived in the evening. She had cooked soup, and we ate in the kitchen. Then she looked at the clock. “It’s almost eleven,” she said. “Come with me to the window.”

外面一片漆黑。湖水又黑又静。然后我看到了。在湖中心深处，有一道光。那是蓝色的，正在慢慢闪烁。

Outside everything was dark. The lake was black and calm. Then I saw it. Deep under the water, in the middle of the lake, there was a light. It was blue, and it blinked slowly.

“已经三个星期了，”祖母说，“每晚十一点。凌晨四点它就消失了。”

“For three weeks,” my grandmother said. “Every night at eleven. And at four in the morning it’s gone again.”
