Ella sekiz yaşında. İkinci sınıfa gidiyor. Öğretmeninin adı Bayan Sommer. Bayan Sommer iyi biri.
Ella is eight. She is in the second year at school. Her teacher is called Mrs Sommer. Mrs Sommer is nice.
Bugün günlerden pazartesi. Ella’nın yanında boş bir yer var. Bugün orada yeni bir çocuk oturuyor.
Today is Monday. There is a free seat next to Ella. Today a new boy is sitting there.
“Bu Luca” diyor Bayan Sommer. “Luca İtalya’dan geliyor. Şimdi burada oturuyor. Henüz Almanca bilmiyor.”
“This is Luca,” says Mrs Sommer. “Luca comes from Italy. He lives here now. He doesn’t speak any German yet.”
Luca’nın siyah saçları ve mavi bir ceketi var. Masaya bakıyor. Hiçbir şey söylemiyor.
Luca has black hair and a blue jacket. He looks down at the desk. He says nothing.
Ella gülümsüyor. “Merhaba! Ben Ella.”
Ella smiles. “Hello! I’m Ella.”
Luca Ella’ya bakıyor. Bir şey söylüyor. Ama Ella anlamıyor. Bir şarkı gibi güzel geliyor. Ama İtalyanca.
Luca looks at Ella. He says something. But Ella doesn’t understand it. It sounds nice, like a song. But it is Italian.
Ders başlıyor. Bayan Sommer tahtaya yazıyor. Çocuklar okuyor. Çocuklar yazıyor. Luca hiçbir şey yazmıyor. Pencereden dışarı bakıyor.
The lesson begins. Mrs Sommer writes on the board. The children read. The children write. Luca writes nothing. He looks out of the window.
Ella düşünüyor: Luca üzgün. Yeni. Kimseyi tanımıyor. Ve hiçbir şeyi anlamıyor. Bu zor.
Ella thinks: Luca is sad. He is new. He doesn’t know anyone. And he doesn’t understand anything. That’s hard.
Teneffüste çocuklar bahçede oynuyor. Luca duvarın yanında tek başına duruyor.
At break time the children play in the playground. Luca stands alone by the wall.
Ella’nın bir fikri var. Kağıt ve bir kalem alıyor. Bir güneş çiziyor. Sonra güneşi gösteriyor. “Güneş” diyor.
Ella has an idea. She fetches some paper and a pencil. She draws a sun. Then she points at the sun. “Sonne,” she says.
Luca resme bakıyor. Sonra biraz gülümsüyor. “Sole” diyor.
Luca looks at the picture. Then he smiles a little. “Sole,” he says.
“Sole!” diyor Ella. “Güneş Sole demek!”
“Sole!” says Ella. “Sonne is sole!”
