这块表是我奶奶的。它又旧又重，是银做的。背面有两个字母：“E. W.”。奶奶在去世前把它给了我。

The watch belonged to my grandmother. It is old and heavy, made of silver. On the back there are two letters: “E. W.” Grandma gave it to me before her death.

我叫乔纳斯，今年二十八岁，住在莱比锡。我在火车站附近的一间办公室工作。我的生活很平静。也许太平静了一点。

My name is Jonas, I’m twenty-eight and I live in Leipzig. I work in an office near the main station. My life is quiet. Maybe a little too quiet.

那时奶奶只说了一句话：“每天只能按一次小按钮。”我笑了。我以为她累了，糊涂了。

Back then Grandma said only one sentence: “Press the little button only once a day.” I laughed. I thought she was tired and confused.

这块表在抽屉里放了一年。后来我的另一块表坏了。所以我开始戴奶奶的表。

For a year the watch lay in a drawer. Then my other watch broke. So I wore Grandma’s watch.

它走得一直很准。不快一秒，也不慢一秒。只有侧面的那个小按钮让我觉得很奇怪。

It always kept exact time. Not a second too early, not a second too late. Only the little button on the side was a mystery to me.
