First Hindi stories for children, told in the present tense. Free to read in the browser, each with a translation beside every paragraph.
About the series
Short Hindi stories for children, and for anyone taking their very first steps in Hindi, with a translation beside every paragraph. A cat who is nowhere to be found, a dog who will not have a bath, a wobbly tooth, a snowman for a grandmother in bed: small everyday problems, solved by the end, with a laugh on the way.
The Hindi is at A1, the very first level. Every story is told in the present tense, in short sentences, with the same everyday words coming back again and again. No past tenses and no long clauses: nothing a beginner has not met yet.
Read them with a child, read them aloud together, or read them on your own as a first real story in Hindi. Each one takes about ten minutes.
