Micul dejun

Micul dejun este de la șapte la zece. Doamna Berg spune asta tuturor.

Breakfast is from seven to ten. Mrs Berg says that to everybody.

La ora șapte este o tavă pe un scaun.

At seven o’clock there is a tray on a chair.

Scaunul este în fața ușii bucătăriei.

The chair is in front of the kitchen door.

Pe tavă este pâine proaspătă. Este caldă.

There is fresh bread on the tray. It is hot.

Ușa bucătăriei este mereu închisă.

The kitchen door is always closed.

Nina aduce tava la mese. Acesta este noul ei serviciu.

Nina brings the tray to the tables. This is her new job.

Este un meniu pe fiecare masă. Spune: cafea, ceai, pâine.

There is a menu on every table. It says: coffee, tea, bread.

Oamenii coboară scările. Ei nu sunt fericiți.

People come down the stairs. They are not happy.

Ei mănâncă pâinea. Ei se uită la farfuriile lor. Ei nu mai vorbesc.

They eat the bread. They look at their plates. They stop talking.

„Mai este pâine?” spune un bărbat, foarte încet.

“Is there more bread?” a man says, very quietly.

Nina ia puțin din ea. Ea mănâncă. Ea închide ochii.

Nina takes a little of it. She eats. She closes her eyes.

Ea este foarte mică. Ea este la o masă mare.

She is very small. She is at a big table.

Este o mână cu pâine caldă în ea.

There is a hand with hot bread in it.

Ea deschide ochii. Ea este o femeie cu o tavă.

She opens her eyes. She is a woman with a tray.
