早饭

Breakfast

早饭 zǎofàn 从 cóng 七 qī 点 diǎn 到 dào 十 shí 点 diǎn 。Berg 女士 nǚshì 对 duì 每 měi 个 gè 人 rén 这样 zhèyàng 说 shuō 。

Breakfast is from seven to ten. Mrs Berg says that to everybody.

七 qī 点 diǎn ， 椅子 yǐzi 上 shàng 有 yǒu 一个 yígè 托盘 tuōpán 。

At seven o’clock there is a tray on a chair.

椅子 yǐzi 在 zài 厨房 chúfáng 的 de 门 mén 前面 qiánmiàn 。

The chair is in front of the kitchen door.

托盘 tuōpán 上 shàng 有 yǒu 新鲜 xīnxiān 的 de 面包 miànbāo 。 它 tā 是 shì 热 rè 的 de 。

There is fresh bread on the tray. It is hot.

厨房 chúfáng 的 de 门 mén 总是 zǒngshì 关着 guānzhe 。

The kitchen door is always closed.

Nina 把 bǎ 托盘 tuōpán 带 dài 到 dào 桌子 zhuōzi 那里 nàlǐ 。 这 zhè 是 shì 她的 tāde 新 xīn 工作 gōngzuò 。

Nina brings the tray to the tables. This is her new job.

每 měi 张 zhāng 桌子 zhuōzi 上 shàng 有 yǒu 一张 yìzhāng 菜单 càidān 。 上面 shàngmiàn 写 xiě 着 zhe ： 咖啡 kāfēi ， 茶 chá ， 面包 miànbāo 。

There is a menu on every table. It says: coffee, tea, bread.

人们 rénmen 从 cóng 楼梯 lóutī 上 shàng 下来 xiàlái 。 他们 tāmen 不 bù 高兴 gāoxìng 。

People come down the stairs. They are not happy.

他们 tāmen 吃 chī 面包 miànbāo 。 他们 tāmen 看 kàn 他们的 tāmende 盘子 pánzi 。 他们 tāmen 不 bú 再 zài 说话 shuōhuà 。

They eat the bread. They look at their plates. They stop talking.

“ 还有 háiyǒu 更 gèng 多 duō 面包 miànbāo 吗 ma ？” 一个 yígè 男人 nánrén 非常 fēicháng 小声 xiǎoshēng 地 de 说 shuō 。

“Is there more bread?” a man says, very quietly.

Nina 拿 ná 一点 yìdiǎn 。 她 tā 吃 chī 。 她 tā 关 guān 上 shàng 她的 tāde 眼睛 yǎnjīng 。

Nina takes a little of it. She eats. She closes her eyes.

她 tā 非常 fēicháng 小 xiǎo 。 她 tā 在 zài 一张 yìzhāng 大 dà 桌子 zhuōzi 旁边 pángbiān 。

She is very small. She is at a big table.

有 yǒu 一只 yìzhī 手 shǒu ， 手 shǒu 里 lǐ 有 yǒu 热 rè 面包 miànbāo 。

There is a hand with hot bread in it.
