The Telephone

There is a big clock behind Mrs Berg’s desk.

Za biurkiem pani Berg jest duży zegar.

It says three o’clock. It is Friday afternoon.

Na zegarze jest trzecia. Jest piątek po południu.

Mrs Berg takes her coat. That is new.

Pani Berg bierze płaszcz. To jest nowe.

“The doctor wants to see me,” she says. “Sit here.”

„Lekarz chce mnie zobaczyć” — mówi. „Proszę tu siedzieć.”

“Are you sick?”

„Czy pani jest chora?”

“No. Sit.”

„Nie. Proszę siedzieć.”

“At the desk?”

„Przy biurku?”

“Answer the telephone. Don’t use the computer.”

„Proszę odpowiadać na telefon. Proszę nie używać komputera.”

“What do I say?”

„Co mam mówić?”

“The lift doesn’t work today.”

„Winda dzisiaj nie działa.”

She goes out. Nina sits behind the desk.

Wychodzi. Nina siedzi za biurkiem.

It is a good chair. Max sits on her shoe.

To jest dobre krzesło. Max siedzi na jej bucie.

It is quiet. The clock works. The lift doesn’t.

Jest cicho. Zegar działa. Winda nie.

A man comes in with a letter.

Mężczyzna wchodzi z listem.
