O Telefone

Tem um relógio grande atrás do balcão da Sra. Berg.

There is a big clock behind Mrs Berg’s desk.

Ele diz três horas. É sexta à tarde.

It says three o’clock. It is Friday afternoon.

A Sra. Berg pega o casaco dela. Isso é novo.

Mrs Berg takes her coat. That is new.

“O médico quer me ver,” ela diz. “Sente aqui.”

“The doctor wants to see me,” she says. “Sit here.”

“A senhora está doente?”

“Are you sick?”

“Não. Sente.”

“No. Sit.”

“No balcão?”

“At the desk?”

“Responda o telefone. Não use o computador.”

“Answer the telephone. Don’t use the computer.”

“O que eu digo?”

“What do I say?”

“O elevador não funciona hoje.”

“The lift doesn’t work today.”

Ela sai. Nina senta atrás do balcão.

She goes out. Nina sits behind the desk.

É uma boa cadeira. Max senta no sapato dela.

It is a good chair. Max sits on her shoe.

Está quieto. O relógio funciona. O elevador não.

It is quiet. The clock works. The lift doesn’t.

Um homem entra com uma carta.
