Świeży chleb

Każdego ranka o piątej Nina jest w kuchni.

Every morning at five o’clock, Nina is in the kitchen.

Jest ciemno i cicho.

It is dark and quiet.

O szóstej ptak przychodzi do tylnych drzwi.

At six o’clock a bird comes to the back door.

Jest mały i szary. To jest ptak babci. Każdego ranka je chleb babci.

It is small and grey. It is Grandma’s bird. Every morning it eats Grandma’s bread.

Nina daje mu trochę swojego chleba.

Nina gives it a little of her bread.

Ptak patrzy na chleb. Patrzy na Ninę.

The bird looks at the bread. It looks at Nina.

Odchodzi.

It goes.

Max je chleb. Ale Max je liściki.

Max eats the bread. But Max eats notes.

O siódmej taca jest na krześle.

At seven o’clock, the tray is on the chair.

Nina zamyka drzwi kuchni. Stoi za nimi.

Nina closes the kitchen door. She stands behind it.

Słyszy ludzi na schodach. Nie są szczęśliwi.

She hears people on the stairs. They are not happy.

Słyszy krzesła. Potem nic nie słyszy.

She hears chairs. Then she hears nothing.

Patrzą na swoje talerze.

They are looking at their plates.

Jedzą. Przestają rozmawiać. To jest bardzo dobre.

They are eating. They stop talking. That is very good.
