夜里三点,声音又开始了。
At three in the morning, it started again.
砰。然后是脚步声。然后是吹口哨声。然后是关门声。然后安静了。
Boom. Then footsteps. Then whistling. Then the door. Then silence.
我叫莉娜。我住在莱比锡一栋老房子的三楼。我两个月前搬到这里。房子很小,但是很亮。我很喜欢它。只是我不喜欢夜晚。
My name is Lena. I live on the third floor of an old building in Leipzig. I moved in two months ago. The flat is small but bright. I love it. It’s just the nights I don’t love.
每天夜里三点,我都能听到楼上邻居的声音。我不认识他。我从没见过他。他的信箱上只写着:“J.勃兰特,4楼”。
Every night at three I hear the neighbour above me. I don’t know him. I have never seen him. His mailbox just says: “J. Brandt, 4th floor.”
我在办公室工作。八点钟我坐在电脑前。六个星期没睡好,我很生气。非常生气。
I work in an office. At eight o’clock I’m at my computer. After six weeks of very little sleep, I was angry. Very angry.
那天夜里,我起床了。我拿了一张纸,写道:
That night I got up. I took a sheet of paper and wrote:
亲爱的4楼邻居,现在是夜里三点。别人这个时间都在睡觉。您也许听说过?L.韦伯,3楼
Dear neighbour on the 4th floor, it is three in the morning. Other people sleep at this time. Maybe you’ve heard of it? L. Weber, 3rd floor
我把纸条贴在他的门上。然后我很快跑回楼下。我的心跳得很响。比他的脚步声还响。
I stuck the note on his door. Then I ran quickly back downstairs. My heart was pounding. Louder than his footsteps.
早上,我像往常一样去了街角的面包店。面包师很年轻,个子很高,总是有点累。他给了我椒盐卷饼。
In the morning I went to the bakery on the corner, as always. The baker is young, tall and always a little tired. He handed me my pretzel.
“您今天看起来气色不好。”他说。
“You look terrible today,” he said.
“谢谢。”我说,“我的邻居是个怪物。”
“Thanks,” I said. “My neighbour is a monster.”
他笑了。我没笑。
He laughed. I didn’t.
晚上,我打开信箱。里面有一张纸条。没有账单,没有广告。是一封回信。
In the evening I opened my mailbox. There was a note inside. Not a bill, not an advert. A reply.
