Jonas sekiz yaşında. Her çarşamba dedesinin yanında. Dede yaşlı ama komik. İyi yemek yapıyor ve hikaye okumayı seviyor.

Jonas is eight. Every Wednesday he is at Grandpa’s. Grandpa is old, but funny. He cooks well, and he likes reading stories.

Bugün çarşamba. Jonas zile basıyor. Dede kapıyı açıyor. “Merhaba Jonas! İçeri gel!”

Today is Wednesday. Jonas rings the bell. Grandpa opens the door. “Hello, Jonas! Come in!”

“Merhaba dede! Bugün bir hikaye okuyor musun?” “Evet, tabii” diyor dede. “Ama önce gözlüğüm lazım.”

“Hello, Grandpa! Will you read a story today?” “Yes, gladly,” says Grandpa. “But first I need my glasses.”

Dede arıyor. Masanın üstünde arıyor. Orada gazete var. Orada bir bardak çay var. Ama orada gözlük yok.

Grandpa looks. He looks on the table. There is the newspaper. There is a cup of tea. But there are no glasses.

“Hım” diyor dede. “Gözlüğüm nerede?”

“Hm,” says Grandpa. “Where are my glasses?”

Jonas da arıyor. Mutfakta arıyor. Buzdolabını açıyor. Buzdolabında süt, peynir ve bir domates var. Ama gözlük yok.

Jonas looks too. He looks in the kitchen. He opens the fridge. In the fridge there is milk, cheese and a tomato. But no glasses.

Dede banyoda arıyor. Orada diş fırçası var. Orada tarağı var. Ama orada gözlük yok.

Grandpa looks in the bathroom. There is his toothbrush. There is his comb. But there are no glasses.

“Belki bahçededir?” diye soruyor Jonas. Bahçeye gidiyorlar. Orada komşunun kedisi oturuyor. Kedi dedeye bakıyor. Dede kediye bakıyor.

“Maybe in the garden?” asks Jonas. They go into the garden. The neighbour’s cat is sitting there. The cat looks at Grandpa. Grandpa looks at the cat.

“Gözlüğüm sende mi?” diye soruyor dede. Kedi hiçbir şey söylemiyor. Uzaklaşıyor.

“Have you got my glasses?” asks Grandpa. The cat says nothing. She walks away.

“Kedilerin gözlüğü yok dede” diyor Jonas. “Kediler çok iyi görüyor.”

“Cats don’t have glasses, Grandpa,” says Jonas. “Cats see very well.”

“Kedilerin keyfi yerinde” diyor dede.

“Lucky cats,” says Grandpa.
