Mrs Berg

It is nine o’clock at night. There are no cars.

Jest dziewiąta wieczorem. Nie ma samochodów.

Nina stands by the river.

Nina stoi przy rzece.

This is the hotel. It is small. It has a white door.

To jest hotel. Jest mały. Ma białe drzwi.

It is not blue. She goes in with Max and the bag.

Nie są niebieskie. Wchodzi z Maxem i torbą.

A woman stands behind a desk, looking at a computer.

Kobieta stoi za biurkiem i patrzy na komputer.

She doesn’t look up.

Nie patrzy w górę.

“Good evening,” she says. “Your name, please?”

„Dobry wieczór” — mówi. „Jak pani ma na imię?”

“Nina.”

„Nina.”

“There is no Nina. I am Mrs Berg. Do you have a booking?”

„Nie ma żadnej Niny. Jestem pani Berg. Czy pani ma rezerwację?”

“No,” Nina says. “I have a key.”

„Nie” — mówi Nina. „Mam klucz.”

She puts the key on the desk.

Kładzie klucz na biurku.

Mrs Berg looks at it for a long time. Her face does nothing.

Pani Berg patrzy na niego długo. Jej twarz nic nie robi.

“That is not one of my keys,” she says.

„To nie jest jeden z moich kluczy” — mówi.

“It is for a blue door. Is there a blue door here?”

„On jest do niebieskich drzwi. Czy są tu niebieskie drzwi?”
