Der Aufzug

Im Hotel ist ein Aufzug. Er ist sehr klein.

There is a lift in the hotel. It is very small.

Daran ist ein Schild: „Eine Person.“

There is a sign on it: “One person.”

Daran ist ein Papier: „Der Aufzug funktioniert heute nicht.“

There is a paper on it: “The lift doesn’t work today.”

Nina liest dieses Papier jeden Morgen. Es ist immer das gleiche Papier.

Nina reads that paper every morning. It is always the same paper.

Es ist gelb. Es ist ein sehr altes Heute.

It is yellow. It is a very old today.

Es ist wieder Montag, drei Uhr nachmittags.

It is Monday again, three o’clock in the afternoon.

Ein Mann kommt mit drei großen Taschen herein.

A man comes in with three big bags.

„Ich habe eine Buchung“, sagt er. „Zimmer zwölf.“

“I have a booking,” he says. “Room twelve.”

Nina hört auf, den Boden sauber zu machen. Sie schaut auf.

Nina stops cleaning the floor. She looks up.

„Achtzig Euro pro Nacht“, sagt Frau Berg. „Der Aufzug funktioniert heute nicht.“

“Eighty euros for a night,” Mrs Berg says. “The lift doesn’t work today.”

„Heute?“, sagt der Mann.

“Today?” the man says.

„Heute. Bitte benutzen Sie die Treppe.“

“Today. Please use the stairs.”

„Gibt es WLAN?“

“Is there wifi?”

„Ja. Das WLAN-Passwort ist auf dem Tresen.“

“Yes. The wifi password is on the desk.”
