There is a lift in the hotel. It is very small.

There is a sign on it: “One person.”

There is a paper on it: “The lift doesn’t work today.”

Nina reads that paper every morning. It is always the same paper.

It is yellow. It is a very old today.

It is Monday again, three o’clock in the afternoon.

A man comes in with three big bags.

“I have a booking,” he says. “Room twelve.”

Nina stops cleaning the floor. She looks up.

“Eighty euros for a night,” Mrs Berg says. “The lift doesn’t work today.”

“Today?” the man says.

“Today. Please use the stairs.”

“Is there wifi?”

«Ναι.

“Yes. The wifi password is on the desk.”
