Ușa din spate

Nina aleargă la ușa bucătăriei.

Nina runs to the kitchen door.

„Bunico!” strigă ea.

“Grandma!” she shouts.

Ea își pune mâinile pe ușă. Nu se deschide.

She puts her hands on the door. It doesn’t open.

„Bunico! Eu sunt! Eu sunt Nina!”

“Grandma! It is me! It is Nina!”

Nu este nimic în spatele ușii. Este foarte liniște.

There is nothing behind the door. It is very quiet.

Ea își scoate cheia. Mâna ei este rece.

She takes out her key. Her hand is cold.

Ea o pune la ușă. Nu intră.

She puts it to the door. It doesn’t go in.

Nu ușa asta.

Not this door.

Ea cunoaște cuvintele astea. Ea le cunoaște din prima zi.

She knows those words. She knows them from the first day.

Ușa hotelului se deschide. Doamna Berg intră cu ploaie pe palton.

The door of the hotel opens. Mrs Berg comes in with rain on her coat.

Ea se uită la Nina. Ea se uită la cheie.

She looks at Nina. She looks at the key.

Ea se uită la telefonul de pe birou.

She looks at the telephone on the desk.

„Ușa aceea este închisă”, spune ea.

“That door is closed,” she says.

„Bunica mea este în bucătăria ta!”

“My grandma is in your kitchen!”
