Küçük Ördek

Mevsim ilkbahar. Güneş parlıyor. Lina ve küçük kardeşi Noah oyun parkında. Oyun parkı parkın içinde, bir göletin yanında.

It is spring. The sun is shining. Lina and her little brother Noah are at the playground. The playground is in the park, next to a pond.

Lina salıncakta. Noah kumda. Bir kale yapıyor. Sonra bağırıyor: “Lina! Çabuk gel! Orada bir kuş var!”

Lina is on the swing. Noah is in the sand. He is building a castle. Then he shouts, “Lina! Come quickly! There’s a bird!”

Lina geliyor. Kumda küçük bir kuş oturuyor. Sarı, kahverengi ve çok yumuşak. Yassı bir gagası var.

Lina comes. A little bird is sitting in the sand. It is yellow and brown and very soft. It has a flat beak.

“Bu bir kuş değil” diyor Lina. “Bu bir ördek. Bir bebek ördek!”

“That’s not just a bird,” says Lina. “It’s a duck. A baby duck!”

Küçük ördek diyor: “Cik! Cik!”

The little duck says, “Peep! Peep!”

“Annesi nerede?” diye soruyor Noah. Lina sola bakıyor. Sağa bakıyor. Anne yok. Sadece çocuklar, anneler, babalar ve bir köpek var.

“Where is its mummy?” asks Noah. Lina looks to the left. She looks to the right. No mummy. Only children, mothers, fathers and a dog.

Köpek ördeği görüyor. Havlıyor. “Hav! Hav!” Ördek yüksek sesle cikliyor. Noah’a koşuyor. Şimdi onun ayakkabısının üstünde oturuyor.

The dog sees the duck. He barks. “Woof! Woof!” The duck peeps loudly. It runs to Noah and now it is sitting on his shoe.

“Korkuyor” diyor Lina. “Annesini bulalım.”

“It’s scared,” says Lina. “We have to find its mummy.”

“Annesi kesin gölette” diyor Noah. “Ördekler gölette yaşıyor.”

“Its mummy is sure to be at the pond,” says Noah. “Ducks live at the pond.”

Lina başını sallıyor. “Tamam. Gölete gidiyoruz.”

Lina nods. “Good. Let’s go to the pond.”
