小鸭子

现在是春天。太阳很好。莉娜和弟弟诺亚在游乐场。游乐场在公园里，旁边有一个池塘。

It is spring. The sun is shining. Lina and her little brother Noah are at the playground. The playground is in the park, next to a pond.

莉娜在荡秋千。诺亚在玩沙子。他在做一个城堡。然后他叫：“莉娜！快来！那儿有一只鸟！”

Lina is on the swing. Noah is in the sand. He is building a castle. Then he shouts, “Lina! Come quickly! There’s a bird!”

莉娜来了。沙子里有一只小鸟。它是黄色的，也是棕色的，很软。它的嘴巴是平的。

Lina comes. A little bird is sitting in the sand. It is yellow and brown and very soft. It has a flat beak.

“这不是鸟，”莉娜说。“这是鸭子。是一只小鸭子！”

“That’s not just a bird,” says Lina. “It’s a duck. A baby duck!”

小鸭子说：“叽！叽！”

The little duck says, “Peep! Peep!”

“妈妈在哪儿？”诺亚问。莉娜看左边。她看右边。没有妈妈。只有孩子、妈妈、爸爸和一只狗。

“Where is its mummy?” asks Noah. Lina looks to the left. She looks to the right. No mummy. Only children, mothers, fathers and a dog.

狗看见了小鸭子。它叫：“汪！汪！”小鸭子大声叫。它跑到诺亚那儿，坐在他的鞋子上。

The dog sees the duck. He barks. “Woof! Woof!” The duck peeps loudly. It runs to Noah and now it is sitting on his shoe.

“它很怕，”莉娜说。“我们要找妈妈。”

“It’s scared,” says Lina. “We have to find its mummy.”

“妈妈一定在池塘那儿，”诺亚说。“鸭子住在池塘边。”

“Its mummy is sure to be at the pond,” says Noah. “Ducks live at the pond.”

莉娜点头。“好。我们去池塘。”

Lina nods. “Good. Let’s go to the pond.”
