In his family, his wife drives. She drives to the market, to the doctor and to the restaurant. Mehmet sits next to her and talks.
« Tourne à gauche ici, dit-il. Non, à droite ! Attention au bus ! »
“Turn left here,” he says. “No, right! Watch the bus!”
« Mehmet, dit sa femme. Qui conduit cette voiture ? Toi ou moi ? »
“Mehmet,” says his wife. “Who drives this car? You or me?”
« Toi, bien sûr. »
“You, of course.”
« Alors tais-toi. »
“Then be quiet.”

« Bursa ! C’est loin. »
“Bursa! That is far.”
« Oui. J’habite là-bas du lundi au vendredi. Je rentre à la maison le week-end. »
“Yes. I live there from Monday to Friday. I come home at the weekend.”
Mehmet reste silencieux un moment. « Et la voiture ? »
