Pokój dwanaście

Jest dziewiąta rano. Mężczyzna z trzema torbami wychodzi.

It is nine o’clock in the morning. The man with three bags goes out.

Pani Berg daje Ninie klucz.

Mrs Berg gives Nina a key.

„Proszę wyczyścić łazienkę w pokoju dwanaście” — mówi.

“Clean the bathroom in room twelve,” she says.

Nina idzie po osiemdziesięciu stopniach w górę. Cicho zamyka drzwi.

Nina goes up the eighty stairs. She closes the door quietly.

Pokój jest bardzo cichy.

The room is very quiet.

Wyjmuje zdjęcie z torby.

She takes the photo out of her bag.

Babcia jest na nim stara i się uśmiecha.

Grandma is old in it, and she is smiling.

Za jej głową jest okno.

Behind her head there is a window.

Nina idzie do okna.

Nina goes to the window.

Jest na nim mały stary numer. 1 i 2.

There is a small old number on it. A 1 and a 2.

To jest to samo okno. Tu jest to samo światło.

It is the same window. Here is the same light.

Stawia buty na tej samej podłodze.

She puts her shoes on the same floor.

Teraz stoi tam, gdzie stoi babcia.

Now she is standing where Grandma stands.

Nie ma tu niebieskich drzwi. Widzi to. Szuka ich.

There is no blue door here. She can see that. She looks for it.
