Camera doisprezece

Este ora nouă dimineața. Bărbatul cu trei genți iese.

It is nine o’clock in the morning. The man with three bags goes out.

Doamna Berg îi dă Ninei o cheie.

Mrs Berg gives Nina a key.

„Curăță baia din camera doisprezece”, spune ea.

“Clean the bathroom in room twelve,” she says.

Nina merge sus pe cele optzeci de trepte. Ea închide ușa încet.

Nina goes up the eighty stairs. She closes the door quietly.

Camera este foarte liniștită.

The room is very quiet.

Ea scoate poza din geantă.

She takes the photo out of her bag.

Bunica este bătrână în ea și zâmbește.

Grandma is old in it, and she is smiling.

În spatele capului ei este o fereastră.

Behind her head there is a window.

Nina merge la fereastră.

Nina goes to the window.

Este un număr mic și vechi pe ea. Un 1 și un 2.

There is a small old number on it. A 1 and a 2.

Este aceeași fereastră. Aici este aceeași lumină.

It is the same window. Here is the same light.

Ea își pune pantofii pe aceeași podea.

She puts her shoes on the same floor.

Acum ea stă în picioare acolo unde stă bunica.

Now she is standing where Grandma stands.

Nu este nicio ușă albastră aici. Ea poate vedea asta. Ea se uită după ea.

There is no blue door here. She can see that. She looks for it.
