Ana and the app

Ana und die App

Lucía lives in Mexico City. She is thirty-four. She is an accountant in a big office.

Lucía wohnt in Mexiko-Stadt. Sie ist vierunddreißig. Sie ist Buchhalterin in einem großen Büro.

All day, she works with numbers. Numbers on paper, numbers on her computer. She is good with numbers.

Den ganzen Tag arbeitet sie mit Zahlen. Zahlen auf Papier, Zahlen auf ihrem Computer. Sie ist gut mit Zahlen.

At six o’clock, she takes the metro home. Her apartment is small and quiet.

Um sechs Uhr nimmt sie die Metro nach Hause. Ihre Wohnung ist klein und ruhig.

She eats dinner alone. She watches TV alone. She goes to bed at ten.

Sie isst allein zu Abend. Sie sieht allein fern. Sie geht um zehn ins Bett.

On Friday evening, her friend Ana comes. Ana has a bottle of wine and a big smile.

Am Freitagabend kommt ihre Freundin Ana. Ana hat eine Flasche Wein und ein großes Lächeln.

“How is your week?” asks Ana.

„Wie ist deine Woche?“, fragt Ana.

“Good. Lots of numbers.”

„Gut. Viele Zahlen.“

“And your evenings?”

„Und deine Abende?“

“My evenings are quiet. I have my TV and my tea.”

„Meine Abende sind ruhig. Ich habe meinen Fernseher und meinen Tee.“

Ana looks at her. “Lucía, you are thirty-four. You are not eighty. Give me your phone.”

Ana sieht sie an. „Lucía, du bist vierunddreißig. Du bist nicht achtzig. Gib mir dein Telefon.“

“My phone? Why?”

„Mein Telefon? Warum?“

“Because you need a dating app.”

„Weil du eine Dating-App brauchst.“

“A dating app? No, no, no. I am an accountant. An accountant doesn’t do dating apps.”

„Eine Dating-App? Nein, nein, nein. Ich bin Buchhalterin. Eine Buchhalterin nutzt keine Dating-Apps.“
