Lucía vive en Ciudad de México. Tiene treinta y cuatro años. Es contable en una oficina grande.
Lucía lives in Mexico City. She is thirty-four. She is an accountant in a big office.
Todo el día trabaja con números. Números en papel, números en su ordenador. Es buena con los números.
All day, she works with numbers. Numbers on paper, numbers on her computer. She is good with numbers.
A las seis coge el metro a casa. Su piso es pequeño y tranquilo.
At six o’clock, she takes the metro home. Her apartment is small and quiet.
Cena sola. Ve la tele sola. Va a la cama a las diez.
She eats dinner alone. She watches TV alone. She goes to bed at ten.
El viernes por la tarde viene su amiga Ana. Ana tiene una botella de vino y una gran sonrisa.
On Friday evening, her friend Ana comes. Ana has a bottle of wine and a big smile.
«¿Cómo va tu semana?», pregunta Ana.
“How is your week?” asks Ana.
«Bien. Muchos números».
“Good. Lots of numbers.”
«¿Y tus tardes?».
“And your evenings?”
«Mis tardes son tranquilas. Tengo mi tele y mi té».
“My evenings are quiet. I have my TV and my tea.”
Ana la mira. «Lucía, tienes treinta y cuatro años. No tienes ochenta. Dame tu móvil».
Ana looks at her. “Lucía, you are thirty-four. You are not eighty. Give me your phone.”
«¿Mi móvil? ¿Por qué?».
“My phone? Why?”
«Porque necesitas una aplicación de citas».
“Because you need a dating app.”
«¿Una aplicación de citas? No, no, no. Soy contable. Una contable no usa aplicaciones de citas».
“A dating app? No, no, no. I am an accountant. An accountant doesn’t do dating apps.”
