Ana and the app

लूसिया मेक्सिको सिटी में रहती है। वह चौंतीस साल की है। वह एक बड़े दफ़्तर में अकाउंटेंट है।

Lucía lives in Mexico City. She is thirty-four. She is an accountant in a big office.

पूरे दिन, वह नंबरों के साथ काम करती है। कागज़ पर नंबर, उसके कंप्यूटर पर नंबर। वह नंबरों के काम में अच्छी है।

All day, she works with numbers. Numbers on paper, numbers on her computer. She is good with numbers.

छह बजे, वह मेट्रो से घर जाती है। उसका घर छोटा और शांत है।

At six o’clock, she takes the metro home. Her apartment is small and quiet.

वह अकेले रात का खाना खाती है। वह अकेले टीवी देखती है। वह दस बजे सोने जाती है।

She eats dinner alone. She watches TV alone. She goes to bed at ten.

शुक्रवार की शाम को, उसकी सहेली आना आती है। आना के पास वाइन की एक बोतल है और चेहरे पर एक बड़ी मुस्कान है।

On Friday evening, her friend Ana comes. Ana has a bottle of wine and a big smile.

“तुम्हारा हफ़्ता कैसा है?” आना पूछती है।

“How is your week?” asks Ana.

“अच्छा है। बहुत सारे नंबर हैं।”

“Good. Lots of numbers.”

“और तुम्हारी शामें?”

“And your evenings?”

“मेरी शामें शांत होती हैं। मेरे पास मेरा टीवी और मेरी चाय है।”

“My evenings are quiet. I have my TV and my tea.”

आना उसकी तरफ़ देखती है। “लूसिया, तुम चौंतीस साल की हो। तुम अस्सी साल की नहीं हो। मुझे अपना फ़ोन दो।”

Ana looks at her. “Lucía, you are thirty-four. You are not eighty. Give me your phone.”

“मेरा फ़ोन? क्यों?”

“My phone? Why?”

“क्योंकि तुम्हें एक डेटिंग ऐप चाहिए।”

“Because you need a dating app.”

“एक डेटिंग ऐप? नहीं, नहीं, नहीं। मैं एक अकाउंटेंट हूँ। एक अकाउंटेंट डेटिंग ऐप इस्तेमाल नहीं करती।”

“A dating app? No, no, no. I am an accountant. An accountant doesn’t do dating apps.”
