Lucía lives in Mexico City. She is thirty-four. She is an accountant in a big office.

All day, she works with numbers. Numbers on paper, numbers on her computer. She is good with numbers.
Alle sei prende la metro per tornare a casa. Il suo appartamento è piccolo e tranquillo.
At six o’clock, she takes the metro home. Her apartment is small and quiet.
Cena da sola. Guarda la TV da sola. Va a letto alle dieci.
She eats dinner alone. She watches TV alone. She goes to bed at ten.
Il venerdì sera viene la sua amica Ana. Ana ha una bottiglia di vino e un grande sorriso.
On Friday evening, her friend Ana comes. Ana has a bottle of wine and a big smile.
«Com’è la tua settimana?», chiede Ana.
“How is your week?” asks Ana.
«Bene. Molti numeri.»
“Good. Lots of numbers.”
«E le tue serate?»
“And your evenings?”
«Le mie serate sono tranquille. Ho la mia TV e il mio tè.»
“My evenings are quiet. I have my TV and my tea.”
Ana la guarda. «Lucía, hai trentaquattro anni. Non hai ottant’anni. Dammi il tuo telefono.»
Ana looks at her. “Lucía, you are thirty-four. You are not eighty. Give me your phone.”
«Il mio telefono? Perché?»
“My phone? Why?”
«Perché hai bisogno di un’app di incontri.»
“Because you need a dating app.”
«Un’app di incontri? No, no, no. Sono una contabile. Una contabile non usa le app di incontri.»
“A dating app? No, no, no. I am an accountant. An accountant doesn’t do dating apps.”
