Piotr vive en Varsovia. Tiene cuarenta y cinco años. Trabaja en una oficina grande en la ciudad.
Piotr lives in Warsaw. He is forty-five. He works in a big office in the city.
Cada mañana, va en coche al trabajo. Coge el ascensor a la planta ocho. Está sentado en su mesa todo el día.
Every morning, he drives to work. He takes the lift to the eighth floor. He sits at his desk all day.
Por la tarde, vuelve a casa en coche. Se sienta en el sofá y ve la tele.
In the evening, he drives home. He sits on the sofa and watches TV.
Hoy Piotr no está en el trabajo. Está en el médico.
Today, Piotr is not at work. He is at the doctor’s.
La médica es una mujer joven con pelo corto. Mira su ordenador mucho tiempo.
The doctor is a young woman with short hair. She looks at her computer for a long time.
«Señor Piotr, ¿cuánto camina usted?», pregunta ella.
“Mr Piotr, how much do you walk?” she asks.
«¿Caminar? Camino de mi coche a mi mesa».
“Walk? I walk from my car to my desk.”
«¿Y el fin de semana?».
“And at the weekend?”
«El fin de semana, camino de mi sofá a mi cocina».
“At the weekend, I walk from my sofa to my kitchen.”
La médica no se ríe. «Su corazón no está contento, señor Piotr. Su corazón necesita que usted camine».
The doctor does not laugh. “Your heart is not happy, Mr Piotr. Your heart needs you to walk.”
«¿Cuánto?».
“How much?”
«Diez mil pasos. Todos los días».
“Ten thousand steps. Every day.”
Piotr la mira. «¿Diez mil? ¿Todos los días? Es una broma».
Piotr looks at her. “Ten thousand? Every day? That is a joke.”
