Der Schatten im Nebel

The Shadow in the Fog

The shadow was bigger than the cog railway, and it was moving against the wind. Jonas Kälin was standing on the terrace at Pilatus Kulm, two thousand metres above Lake Lucerne, when the wall of fog suddenly tore open and something dark glided through. Two enormous wings, a long, curved neck, and then the fog closed again, as if someone had drawn a curtain. Jonas's fingers went numb around his phone, and it had not even occurred to him to take a photo.

«Hast du das gesehen?», flüsterte er.

"Did you see that?" he whispered.
