Jeden Morgen um 8:15 Uhr geht die Tür von meinem Café auf. Und jeden Morgen kommt ein kleiner Hund herein. Allein. Niemand ist bei ihm. Und in seinem Halsband steckt immer etwas Neues.
Every morning at 8:15, the door of my café opens. And every morning a small dog walks in. Alone. Nobody is with him. And there is always something new tucked into his collar.

Reading it as a parallel text
A parallel text puts a story next to its translation, paragraph by paragraph. Read in the language you are working on and glance across only when a sentence stops you: the story keeps moving, and the words you look up stay in context. More in how to read with a parallel text.
